Rezoning Plan Near Mid-Buchanan School Rejected Amid Community Pushback

FAUCETT, Mo. – A proposal to rezone agricultural land near Mid-Buchanan R-V School for a five-home housing subdivision has been overwhelmingly rejected by the Buchanan County Planning and Zoning Board.

The proposed development, which would have transformed rural land into residential lots, drew strong opposition from area residents—many of whom are affiliated with the Mid-Buchanan School District. Concerns centered around increased traffic, potential strain on utilities, and the impact of construction so close to school grounds.

Due to the denial of the rezoning request, a related proposal for a minor subdivision on the property was also voted down by the board.
