Steve Hartman, 65, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
Steve was born on July 17, 1959 in Maryville, Missouri to Robert E. and Donna L.(Mattson) Hartman. He was a graduate of Maryville High School and Northwest Missouri State University. He was a teacher at West Nodaway R-I in Burlington Junction, Missouri as his last teaching job. He coached baseball, football, basketball and track & field. Steve’s coaching career took him all over the state of Missouri. Whether you were from Worth County, Crane, Hume, Miami of Amoret, Brookfield, Brunswick or a stop along the way that escaped his mind. Steve had a wide reach and he had stories and love for everyone he coached and helped him become a better man.
He married Sherry Swickhamer on July 12, 1986 in Foster, Missouri. She survives the home. Additional survivors include their children, Jamie (Bill) Gorrell and Joe Hartman; one grandson, William Jameson Gorrell.
Mr. Hartman has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. Memorial Service 2pm Friday, June 20th at Price Funeral Home.
