LAFAYATTE COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 4p.m. Sunday in Lafayette County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2021 Nissan Sentra driven by a 72-year-old Warrensburg woman was northbound on MO 13 just north of Highway U. The driver lost control of the car and it began to skid sideways into the southbound lane. A southbound 2019 Ford F250 driven by a 49-year-old Grapevine, Arkansas, man struck the Nissan.
The 72-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Stewart Hoefer Funeral Home. A private vehicle transported the other driver to Western Missouri Medical Center. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
