Bernard Francis “Bernie” Runde, 91, of Parnell, Missouri passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at his home.
Bernie was born on May 7, 1934 in Stanberry, Missouri to John H. and Matilda E. (Ginther) Runde. He was a 1952 graduate of Parnell High School. He served in the United States Army, spending time in Okinawa Japan. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed boating the rivers and traveling to the mountains. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1931 and the American Legion Post 528. He served several years for the Federal Land Bank and as a Worth County FSA committee member.
He married Mary E. Protzman on September 6, 1958 in Conception, Missouri. She preceded him in death on October 28, 2010. He was also preceded by his parents, brothers, Leo Runde, Richard Runde, Walter Runde, Jack Runde, infant brother, Eugene Runde; sisters, Sally Davison, Teresa Kemper Price and Rita Andriano.
He is survived by his children, Daniel (Traci) Runde, Michael (Louise) Runde, Patrick Runde, James Runde, Keith (Missy) Runde and Catherine Runde; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rose Starke, Mary Crocker and Monica Clayton.
Mass of Christian Burial 10am Saturday, June 7th at St. Joseph Catholic Church under the care of Price Funeral Home. Rosary 6pm Friday, June 6th at the church. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8pm. In memory of Bernie, the family suggests memorials to be made in care of Price Funeral Home to be used for future agricultural scholarships.
