Suspect in Kan. officer shooting moved from hospital to jail

BOURBON COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is identifying the suspect involved in the officer-involved shooting that occurred May 7, in Bourbon County.

George White III, 47, of Pittsburg, was arrested on May 12, at approximately 2:39 p.m., following his release from St. Luke’s Hospital, according to a media release from the KBI.

White was arrested on a Crawford County warrant for aggravated assault, theft of $100,000 or more, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and misdemeanor theft.

Following the arrest, White was booked into the Jackson County Detention Center in Missouri.
