PERU, Neb. — Peru State College has named Dr. Brinton Strohmyer as its new Vice President for Administration and Finance, bringing on board a seasoned leader with experience in both higher education and financial management.

Dr. Strohmyer will take the helm of the college’s fiscal operations, overseeing budget planning, payroll, facilities management, construction, and business services.

A native of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Strohmyer comes to Peru State after years working in leadership roles at nursing homes across Nebraska and Iowa. He also served as program chair and instructor of marketing, management, and business at Iowa Western Community College for five years. His background also includes federal service as a financial administrator with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nebraska.

Strohmyer joins the college at a pivotal time, as Peru State is undergoing its largest capital construction initiative in its 150-plus year history. Known as Project ROAR (Renewed Opportunities for Athletics and Recreation), the $15 million project is funded by a unique mix of college, state, federal, and private dollars.

College officials say Strohmyer’s broad financial expertise and leadership experience will be critical in stewarding the institution through this major investment in its future.
