Former Kansas City Royals outfielder and speedster Terrance Gore died in early February from complications following a medical procedure at 34 years old.
On Thursday, during a visit to Surprise, Arizona and Royals Spring Training camp, former Royals player Mike Moustakas paid tribute to his late teammate. Moustakas described Gore as a great person and expressed sadness over his loss.
“It’s sad,” Moustakas told reporters. “You know, losing a member of our family and the Royals family, it’s really sad. As great as a baseball player as he was, you guys saw what he was able to do on the field with all the speed, he was such a better person,”
“Just a great human, a great friend, father and husband."
The Royals organization also honored Gore, who played five seasons with the team and was known for his speed and defense. Moustakas and other former Royals players are dedicated to keeping Gore's memory alive as the 2026 season approaches.
